Five commodity groups, each with its own specification profile.

Rice, sugar, salt, bran and wheat — grades, forms and packing formats, set out so a buyer can check a specification without asking for a brochure.

01 — Rice · Long grain, aromatic, parboiled and broken grades

Rice is bought by grade and by mill, not by country alone.

We source white, parboiled, aromatic and broken rice across multiple origins for importers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers and food manufacturers. Grain length, broken percentage, moisture and milling quality are agreed in writing before an origin is put forward, because those four figures decide whether a lot is fit for the market it is going to.

Packing is set by the trade the buyer is in — bulk and jumbo bags for reprocessors, printed consumer packs for retail. Where the buyer wants the cargo in their own livery, the private-label programme carries the same specification through to finished packaging.

02 — Sugar · Refined white and raw cane grades

Sugar trades on ICUMSA, and the number has to hold at discharge.

Refined white and raw cane sugar are supplied against declared ICUMSA values, polarisation and moisture, with grain size specified where the buyer is running a defined process. Beverage, bakery and industrial buyers are the ones who feel a drifting specification first, so lots are checked before shipment rather than argued about after.

Contracts are written on standard Incoterms and the documentary set is prepared for the destination market. Origins are selected per contract against grade, availability and freight, rather than defaulted to a single exporting country.

03 — Salt · Edible, industrial and Himalayan pink salt

Salt is four different products wearing one name.

Edible salt, industrial salt, Himalayan pink salt and de-icing grades share a chemical formula and almost nothing else commercially. Purity, mesh or grain size, anti-caking treatment and packing all change by application, so an enquiry is quoted against the use rather than the tonnage alone.

Himalayan pink salt is supplied as edible grades, coarse and fine mesh, and in block and slab form for buyers serving retail and hospitality markets. Industrial buyers take washed and refined grades in bulk for chemical, tanning, water treatment and textile use.

04 — Bran · Rice bran and wheat bran for feed and processing

Bran is a feed input, and feed mills buy on analysis.

Rice bran and wheat bran are supplied to feed mills, compound feed producers and oil extractors, who buy against protein, fibre, fat and moisture rather than against a description. Form matters as much as analysis: pelletised bran handles and stores differently from loose meal, and the choice affects freight as well as shelf life.

Because bran degrades faster than the grain it came from, shipment timing and moisture control are part of the contract, not an afterthought. Lots are checked for moisture and contamination before loading.

05 — Wheat · Milling and feed grades

Protein decides what the wheat can be turned into.

Milling wheat and feed wheat are supplied against protein, moisture, test weight and foreign matter. Flour millers, bakeries and feed producers each need a different band, and buying the wrong band cheaply is more expensive than buying the right one properly.

Origins are selected per contract against the protein required and the shipping window, and cargo is inspected against specification before loading. Documentation is prepared for the importing regime, including phytosanitary and fumigation certification where required.

Behind every shipment

Four things happen to a lot before it becomes your problem or ours.

Sourcing

Origins are selected per contract against grade, packing and landed cost, and suppliers are vetted before they are used.

Inspection

Lots are verified against the contract specification before loading, with third-party inspection where the buyer requires it.

Logistics

Tonnage, stowage and route are fixed by our own shipping desk, against the delivery window the buyer has committed to.

Documentation

The documentary set is prepared for the destination regime, confirmed before the vessel is fixed rather than after arrival.

Send the specification you buy against and we will quote to it.

Enquiries run from a single trial container through to a term supply programme, and the same desk answers both.
